Tammy Pennington, MD, PLLC was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology in 1994 from the University of Louisville. After working in healthcare for a few years she decided to return to school. She graduated from the University of Louisville Medical School in 2005. During that time she received the “S. Spafford Ackerly Award for Outstanding Performance in Psychiatry”. Dr. Pennington completed her Psychiatric Residency training from the University of Louisville in June 2009. During her training at the University of Louisville Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences she received the following awards: “Post graduate year-2 Inpatient Psychiatry Award”, “Harvey R. St. Clair, M.D. Award in Psychodynamics” and “The Dr. Henry P. and M. Page Durkee Laughlin Foundation Award of Distinguished Laughlin Fellow for 2009”. During her residency at the University of Louisville she had the privilege of training under a number of accomplished, very distinguished and nationally recognized physicians in the field of Psychiatry. Dr. Pennington chose the field of Psychiatry as a result of her dedication and commitment to helping those in need of mental health services. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
